In fact, when I come home after such a visits having tried the top end models it doesn't feel like ooh no, do I have to come back and play this piece of ^%$*, not at all, I can still enjoy playing it just as much.Īn upgrade will come however, at some point no doubt.

been through a lot of them on shops more than once, upon reflection, I'd say I am still quite happy with the Casio as a controller combo with software sounds.

In the end of the day having tasted some of the new rolands, Kawais etc etc. I have tried others, and yes, I'd say they feel more authentic in terms of being closer to an acoustic, and they are better/nicer also in some areas, but the Casio is very playable and capable all the same ( IMO of course ). I am not that picky about actions at my level when it comes down to it, sure, I don't want a synth action for piano, but the Casio is decently weighted for expressive playing across the dynamic range I find. I guess a lot of it is, whatever you get used to playing feels best after a while. I have tried these action with their own sounds a number of times by now. The four discrete phase-aligned mic setups of the Ravenscroft 275 accurately capture its unique voice in exquisite detail and can be used individually or mixed in any way. Personally, I can't comment never having owned anything different.

In some cases I heard it even said that some people actually prefer the Casio hooked up with pteq over the VPC1 ( on the pteq forums I heard it mentioned anyway at some point). Sure, I know it is not a VPC1 or MP11 in terms of action realism/authenticity, but nevertheless, it feels quite good to play ( to me ) for what it is. To be fair to the Casio, it isn't horrible, far from it, I call it me humble Casio, since it always reminds me of the top gear reasonably priced car it does everything it needs to do at this point in time well enough for me, just like the reasonably priced car gets you from a to b.Ĭonnection with pteq and things like Ivory, it has worked great for me, but then I have no comparison to go by since I never tried the same virtual pianos with another high quality controller.
